Bandipora, Nov 25 (KNO): Senior vice-president of Awami National Conference (ANC) Muzaffar Ahmad Shah Wednesday asked the founder and president of Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party, Altaf Bukhari to withdraw from the forthcoming elections and join hands with the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD). He said that Bukhari should stop befooling people by telling lies, as this is the time to save “our identity” and bring back Article 370. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Muzaffar Shah told reporters on the sidelines of a function in Bandipora that Altaf Bukhari is befooling the people of J&K and he should stop telling lies. “This is the question of our identity, land and honour of our children and future generation. This is the time to save our identity and I want to convey to Altaf Bukhari that he should withdraw from elections and join hands with the PAGD. We have to give a befitting reply to the BJP that their ill intentions are not going to succeed in Kashmir,” Shah said. He said: “We will get back Article 370 and I hope Altaf Bukhari will accept my appeal and ask his candidates to withdraw from elections and join hands with us.” Replying to a question, Shah said that BJP is trying to hijack the DDC election, as their candidates are not allowed to move and campaign freely. “At least 40 candidates of our alliance have been locked up in a room in Kulgam and they are not being allowed to move freely. There are no proper security arrangements for them as well. Election Commission and Government of India should take note of it,” he said. He also said that people of Jammu and Kashmir will give a befitting reply to the BJP and RSS in the forthcoming DDC elections and will give PAGD a thumping victory. Shah said that those who are supporting the BJP in Kashmir, he wants to ask them, have they sold their conscience? “Everybody is watching and people will give them a befitting reply. PAGD will get a thumping win even if the BJP will go to any extent to manipulate these elections,” he said. Replying to a question, Shah said that Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party is lying by saying that they have nothing to do with the BJP. “If they don’t have anything to do with the BJP why do their members have all those facilities which the BJP leaders have? Why are they lying? They certainly have a connection with the BJP.” He said that now Kashmir has stood up against the BJP in one voice and he wants to appeal to the Apni Party leaders to also join hands with them to give a befitting reply to the BJP and the RSS—(KNO)
